Dave Patch holds a License as a Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maine and has been practicing clinical counseling since 1997. Currently, Dave has a private practice where he sees a variety of clientele of which many have committed sexual offenses and are in treatment either voluntary or involuntary as part of their probation conditions and sentencing requirements. Dave has many clients who are on probation with the State of Maine Department of Corrections Probation and Parole department and has a contract with US Probation and Parole to provide Psychosexual Risk Assessments and treatment. Dave was also formally trained in the STARRSA program in 2017 and worked with several students who were referred to him from the University of Maine. As part of the sex-offense-specific treatment, clients take part in individual and/or group therapy sessions. In this specialized type of treatment, Dave also incorporates an individualized “whole-person” approach treating each client as an individual who comes with their own unique story and effort in making healthy changes in their lives. Dave has special training in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Treatment), Good Lives and Self-Regulation Models, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness CBT, guided meditation in the clinical setting, and Clinical Hypnotherapy; all of which he incorporates into his clinical practice with clients. Over the past few years, Dave has been studying the personal and high-performance coaching models along with neurofeedback in the pursuit of incorporating these methods into his practice. On a personal note, Dave enjoys spending adventures with his wife, Jessica and their 9-year-old son, Jayden, and 18- month-old daughter, Kingsley. In the spring, summer, and fall they can all be found at various ball fields as Dave coaches Jayden’s baseball, soccer, and football teams. Or, they may be seen on biking and hiking trails. And on those hot days, they are usually out boating on near-by lakes or up in Boothbay Harbor. During the winter, Dave is a part-time alpine ski instructor at Sunday River coaching and teaching kids of all ages all-mountain skiing.
