Recognizing that folks need help with issues big and small, Klancy Street operates flexibly and pragmatically. All new client interactions begin with a complimentary intake designed to help us understand what the problem is and how we might be able to help. Following the intake, we can provide options to consider, including those that may not require any help from us at all.
We use various fee structures to maximize client involvement in the solution(s) and minimize client costs.
- Flat Fee Arrangements: For certain services, a flat fee makes the most sense. It allows clients to know what they’re paying for up front without having to worry about extra hourly charges. Services provided in this way include: training sessions; negotiated projects; fixed-time coaching (e.g. regarding negotiation strategies or dispute resolution techniques) or legal education sessions; contract review; etc.
- Hourly Billing: In other circumstances, hourly billing is the most reasonable. This is particularly true in situations when neither Klancy Street nor the client can accurately predict how long the work will take. Services provided in this way include: mediation sessions; facilitated dialogues; multi-party dispute resolution processes; dispute resolution systems design; settlement conferences; projects involving legal research or writing; etc. In some of these situations, clients may find it desirable to reserve half or full day time slots to alleviate any pressure that might be created by a ticking clock. Other clients may simply want to limit the total number of hours they’re willing to approve. Either way, Klancy Street is willing to accommodate reasonable requests.
- Low-Bono and Pro-Bono Services: At Klancy Street, we believe everyone deserves access to help. For that reason, we provide both Low-Bono and Pro-Bono services. In Low-Bono arrangements, clients are given the same level of service as all other clients, but at significantly reduced rates. In Pro-Bono arrangements, clients receive those services for free! Although these arrangements are typically limited in scope or limited to those who demonstrate appropriate need, we’re willing to entertain all reasonable requests. Don’t be shy to ask.
The bottom line is that at Klancy Street we don’t like to spend money unnecessarily and we assume you don’t either. Contact us to learn more about how we can help.
